Effective Tips For A Football Run Through Banner

By Nita McKinney

Before a major football event begins, particularly in some college and high school competitions, it is habitual for a certain team to have a football run through upon entering the field. It is usually the responsibility of cheerleaders and mascots to hold it on both sides while the team is running through it. This is an act to intimidate or surprise the opponent and mostly, the design for it is an important symbol for them.

The name of the team or their mascot is usually drawn into a banner. It would serve as a substance to show the real team. Every member could sign it to put some additional effects. It will usually designate a particular level of pride and in an easy way, it will declare who you are as a whole team.

A brick wall may also be an excellent idea for it. It will denote a level of strength and conviction that is needed by a member to win the game. Drawing several dozens of bricks may seem so repetitive, but if you put some details to the dimensions of the bricks, it will raise the quality and effectiveness of the imagination of the audience.

A motto or a quote can be used to attribute a specific sport in general. Choose a quote which may indicate your name. Choose the motto that would have an effect on the energy of the crowd. Also, consider drawing all the letters in alternating colors of your team.

While making it, know all the essential details that would be written and drawn including the wordings, graphics, logo and motto. A regular sized banner would usually be three meters in its width and about two meters for its height. A larger space would also be needed in creating it. Make sure that you choose the exact width that would accommodate the entry of all the players at once.

Select a paper which is allowed for paint and markers and can easily tear off so that it would not interfere with the players that are passing through. Attach some poles on both sides of it so that it could be held easily. Wood, PVC and some heavy cardboard tubes are highly suggested and attach it using a heavy masking tape. Many would prefer using PVC because it is light in weight, durable and easily cleaned.

In selecting the paper to be used, it would be better to purchase many. This would be used to perform test run to ensure that it could tear easily. If the paper fails to tear, or the poles will fall in the path as the players run through, there would be bigger possibility of incurring injuries.

Put it a particular opening where a team will pass. The entry of the arena or some other gates would be an excellent location in putting up these banners. Hold it tightly so as to stop the poles from going towards the paper as it slowly tears.

Long strips of tape must be avoided in making football run through banners. It will only block the athletes from entering over it. Place some flaps and slits so that the wind can blow in it and so that it would not look like a parachute when you start to display it in a windy area.
