It is easy to accuse someone who is living an unhealthy lifestyle as irresponsible. But airing this criticism is a personal insult especially if you are guilty of the same thing. Sometimes, bad habits like smoking and not getting enough sleep becomes a daily activity that we do not notice how they have become a habit and how they are ruining our health.

Fourth, is good health. You need to walk the talk. You are treating them for their physical problem so it is a must that you are at your best health as well.

Compassion to your patients. Aside from dealing with them in a positive manner, it is important that you care. The mark of a good therapist is their natural ability to sympathize with their patients while maintaining that professional composure. Compassion cannot be faked. If you care, your patients will feel it and they will be more cooperative in their treatment.

Sixth is resilience. Treatment can go against your expectations. What you believe to be easy may be difficult. This can take a toll both physically and psychologically. Therefore, you have to prepare yourself for these things as well. Doing so will prevent you from succumbing to stress. You have several patients. Be mentally prepared.

Being a therapist may sound easy at first. As long as you are well versed with the technicalities and responsibilities of the job, then things may look just fine. But at the end of the day, you still deal with people. And dealing with people with different personalities is never easy. Having the qualities mentioned on above will help you a lot.
