Tips For Finding The Ideal Womens Soccer Cleats

By Grace Rivera

The season of rushing to find the perfect pair of womens soccer cleats has arrived. With all the choices available though, it can be a bit overwhelming. So to help calm the nerves down, here are a few pieces of advice to help with the process that please both the wallet and the feet.

First, it is important to learn about the various types that are out there. There are two main types of cleats, detachable and molded. Detachable cleats allow the player to remove the studs on the bottom of the boot depending on the terrain, weather conditions, and/or personal preference. Whereas the molded variety are made of a hard rubber and permanently attached to the boot.

Second, have a good knowledge of whether the pitches the games will be played on are soft, firm, or hard ground. There are boots that are ideal for each type of terrain. The soft ground refers to muddy or wet pitches, the firm ground would be most of the surfaces, and the hard ground would be the synthetic surfaces. Each of the studs on the bottom is spaced out differently depending on where they are used.

Third, and maybe most importantly for some, the price will make or break which boots are purchased. Because molded cleats will not last as long, they will be cheaper and more affordable for most players. The detachable cleats are pricier, but give the sense of putting on new boots each time the screws are changed. Remember though that the screws will also need to be continually purchased throughout their usage.

Fourth, think about if the boots are going to be used on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. This should play a big role in the deciding process. For those that tend to play pick up games, are complete beginners, or casual athletes, it may not be worth it to pay the big bucks just to get a few uses out of it a year.

The detachable cleats though are a bit more in the short term because of the higher quality and the ongoing purchasing of new studs. But if used enough, it will definitely be worth it in the long run. They might be easier to re-sell as well if the long soccer career did not work out as intended.

It is important to also stop various sports shops and see what the staff members have to say. They can offer some great advice, answer any questions, and provide an opportunity to physically try them on rather then just searching and clicking on the Internet. Making this purchase should be given a lot of thought. Buying a pair that does not fit correctly it can lead to life long injuries.

In conclusion, embarking on the search for womens soccer cleats can seem like an overwhelming task at first. But by taking the time to sit and think about what different types of boots are out there, what type of terrain they will be used on, and how often they will get used, the process will be much easier. So take a minute to breathe and enjoy this experience.
