By Antoinette Quinn

Nowadays when one goes to a horse show you see so much more bling tack than before. It is a treat to a horse dressed up in clean and shiny equipment, as it always makes him and his rider stand out from the crowd. Gone are the days of the boring brown leather look. With so many options out there, you and your mount can now grace the arena looking like super starts.

For those who ride western style, there are many places that offer services to spruce up your tack. You could start with your own shirt. One could put rhinestones on your shirt which can match your horse's brow band. You and your mount would be coordinated and look great.

Many brand names are coming out with bling on their items. You will find many manufacturers coming out with designs that incorporates studs, crystals and many other glitzy looks on their items. One is now able to find chaps with diamante running down the zipper. This is a great look, as they sparkle in the sun as you ride your horse.

One more place you could coordinate your attire with your horses' is with your belt. You could get your belt and the brow band of your horse coordinating with crystals and diamante. This way the two of you will shine as you enter the arena.

It is always a great idea to take some gear that you have in the cupboard and spruce it up to look great again. You could do this by adding on some colorful crystals and diamante. One would be advised to find out if you are allowed to go into the arena with glittery tack. Some judges will allow this if you are going to a training show, however graded shows may not permit such attire.

If you are going to do your gear up, you will find that there are many options to go with when doing so. One could go to your local hobby shop to get the crystals or you could go online where you will find many different styles and colors. The internet prices are generally better, so shop around to see where you can get what you want for the best value for your money.

Once you have decided on your design, you will then have to purchase a good quality leather glue. Make sure that it will keep them the crystals in place as you do not want to land up losing half your stones. Doing up your tack may take a bit of time but it is well worth it in the long run.

Clean your leather gear with a suitable cleaner. This will help the decorations and glue to stick better. Lay your crystals out on the straps to see if it looks good first. Then, once you have decided on a style you can glue them down. Do not get too much glue on the leather as it makes the crystal look smudgy. Once it is dry, you can set off for a ride on your noble steed to show off your designer bling tack.
